Prohibition against Termination

An employer shall not terminate the services of an employee on any of the following grounds:

1. Trade union membership or participation in trade union activities outside working hours or, with the consent of the employer, within working hours.

2. Seeking office as, or acting as the capacity of, an employee representative.

3. Making a complaint or participating in proceedings against an employer involving an alleged violation of laws and regulation.

4. Race, colour, sex, marital status, pregnancy, religion, political opinion, nationality or social origin.

5. Reasonable absence from work due to family emergencies or responsibilities.

6. Absence from work during maternity leave as certified by a medical practitioner.

7. Absence from work due to injury or illness provided that the employee submits a medical certificate to his employer by the third day of absence.

8. Absence from work in the performance of jury service as required by law.

Invites suitably qualified persons to fill the following position:

DOCK HAND

Job Responsibilities:

The Dock-hand's primary responsibility is to carry out the operations of the Marina. The primary concern associated with the operations of the Marina is the customer.

Duties:

1. To maintain a marine environment that is second to none within Sandy Lane Yacht Club.

2. To provide an excellent level of courthouse service to the guest as well as to all visiting yachtsman.

3. To work closely with the Marina Manager to assure that all marine facilities are well equipped to meet the current standards of safety.

4. Vigorously enforce the requirements of environmental protection

5. Must be familiar with the rules pertaining to Marina requirements.

6. Knowledgeable about VHF radio transmissions and etiquette.

7. Maintain a professional demeanor when the VHF radio.

8. Check each vessel moored at the marina for irregularities or unauthorized personnel.

9. Examine the Dock infrastructure daily

10. Maintain the dock, finger piers and pump out facilities,

11. Any other duties assigned by Management.
