About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Recoveries Officer to join our Loans Department. The Recoveries Officer will be responsible for coordinating activities with the Senior Recoveries Officer for the collection of debt from defaulted or delinquent members. The Officer will undertake disciplined monitoring and management of accounts to ensure clearance of arrears, upkeep of payment arrangements, and ensure that sensitive, professional and excellent service is provided for members.
Key Responsibilities

Monitor and manage delinquent loan accounts to ensure timely recovery of outstanding amounts.

Contact members with overdue payments to negotiate repayment terms and resolve outstanding issues.

Prepare and issue demand letters, notices, and other relevant communications in line with Association policies.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of recovery actions and repayment arrangements.

Liaise with attorneys, bailiffs, and other external agencies when legal action is required.

Recommend accounts for legal recovery, write-off, or restructuring as appropriate.

Assist with conducting field visits to assess collateral and meet with members where necessary.

Assist with the preparation of regular recovery performance reports for management.

Assist in the development and continuous improvement of recovery processes and policies.

Ensure all recovery activities comply with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.

Undertake any other reasonable duties not specifically mentioned, but which are consistent with the role.
What You’ll Need
-
At least a Diploma in Finance, Business Management or related field from a recognised institution.

A Degree in Finance, Business Management or related field will be an asset.

At least three (3) years working experience in the field of Finance.
Technical & IT Competencies

Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite.

Comfortable working in a tech-driven environment and collaborating with IT teams.
